Behind Her Eyes is the brand new psychological thriller coming to Netflix on February 17 and they’ve just dropped one jaw-dropping trailer. Netflix seems to be going from strength to strength this year, with Bridgerton becoming the platform's most-watched original show ever. But it looks as though they have no intention of stopping there as their new thriller Behind Her Eyes looks set to be the next binge-worthy hit.

Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Sarah Pinborough, the psychological elements that made the book so nail-bitingly gripping are sure to make this on-screen six-part adaptation all the more intense. For anyone who has finished heist drama Lupin, but has yet to move on to their next chilling show, this is definitely one for you to look out for.

Whilst rumors and hints about Netflix’s Behind Your Eyes have been circulating for some time, the official trailer has only just landed. Creepy, dark and suspenseful, we can hardly wait for the show to premiere.

But what exactly is Behind Your Eyes about?

Here we reveal all you need to know about the new Netflix adaptation - and the book it’s based on…

Behind Her Eyes Plot

Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes series may not end up exactly following the plot of Sarah Pinborough’s amazing book, but if the new trailer is anything to go by, the main storyline looks to be the same chilling mix of romance, obsession and dark secrets.

The book and show both follow Louise, who made her son the center of her world after her husband walked out on her.

But all that changes the moment she meets David - a charming psychiatrist, who is none other than Louise’s new boss. The two embark on a passionate affair, but things become even more complicated when Louise forms a close friendship with David’s wife, Adele.

Fully immersed now in the lives of this apparently flawless couple, it’s only then that Louise starts to wonder if all is really as it seems.

The book has an ending that you won’t see coming - or forget in a hurry! - so we’re hoping the ending of the Netflix adaptation will be just as shocking.

Behind Her Eyes Trailer

In the newly-released trailer, we get to see this brilliant combination of romance and creepiness played out by the Netflix adaptation's talented cast.

Beginning with a memorable scene of Adele (played by Eve Hewson) lying on a bed, whilst a series of scenes flash in and out and she seems to become more and more agitated, unable to keep her hands still.

In her narration, Adele talks about how she tries to "stay calm", before waking up with a gasp, looking haunted. Viewers then get to see the first meeting of Louise and David, the friendship between Louise and Adele growing and already the intensity between them is gripping.

It's clear that something is not right between David and Adele as the pace and Louise's concern increase. As the trailer approaches its close, David explains, "We're just as messed up as anyone else, just better at hiding it".

Behind Her Eyes Book

Netflix’s new series is, just like recent stand-out success Bridgerton, based upon an equally brilliant book. Author Sarah Pinborough’s bestselling 2017 psychological thriller Behind Her Eyes was released to great acclaim from the likes of fellow authors Stephen King and Harlan Coben and so we can’t wait to see what the series will be like.

Since Louise's husband walked out, Louise has made her son her world, supporting them both with her part-time job. But then she meets young, successful David. She can hardly believe he would be attracted to her. Then everything changes when she meets his wife. Making friends with beautiful Adele, Louise soon finds both husband and wife reaching out to her. It's only after she really gets to know them both that she begins to see the cracks in their supposedly perfect marriage. What are they really hiding?

Who is in the cast of Behind Her Eyes on Netflix?

Netflix's Behind Her Eyes adaptation has an unsurprisingly brilliant cast. As the intense trailer showcases, Eve Hewson, daughter of Irish musician Bono, plays the supposedly perfect Adele magnificently. She has previously appeared in 2018’s Robin Hood.

Alongside her is The Night Manager’s Simona Brown brilliantly playing Louise as she is drawn into the couple's world. Whilst Vanity Fair’s Tom Bateman stars as charismatic, yet mysterious, David.

What is the Behind Her Eyes release date?

Behind Her Eyes will be released on Netflix on February 17, so anyone who might want to read the bestselling book first, there is still time. But for those who can't bear to know the shocking ending before they see it play out on screen, they're just going to have to be patient.

Either way, we'll soon learn what twisted secrets David, Adele and Louise might be hiding...
