It seems another Love Island UK couple may have gone their separate ways as reports claim that Love Island 2021's cast members Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran have split. For many fans, this news will come as a ‘violation’ (to quote Chloe herself) but as we all know, the rumor mill doesn't always get it right—so did Chloe and Toby actually break up? Here’s what we know…

Just months after season seven’s winners Millie Court and Liam Reardon announced their split, it seems our runners-up may have also called it quits, despite just celebrating their one-year anniversary.

For those in need of a recap, Chloe and Toby gave us some of the most iconic Love Island memes (namely Chloe’s ‘no whey, no whey’ catchphrase) and a will-they-wont-they storyline to rival that of Ross and Rachel’s. While their journey inside the villa was rocky, their life post-Love Island seemed to be totally plain sailing—with the pair even moving together.

In fact, just a few weeks before their ‘split’ they were sharing TikTok videos about each other and loved-up Insta snaps. This is no doubt why so many fans are questioning whether they have actually gone their separate ways at all. So, let’s investigate this, shall we?

Did Chloe and Toby break up?

While neither Chloe nor Toby have outright confirmed the news, the sad truth is that they really do seem to have split.

So far there have been no-joint statements like Millie and Liam’s however the Daily Mail has reported that the pair are making ‘arrangements’ to separate—as they currently cohabit a £1 million pad in Essex together—after having ‘grown apart’.

A source claimed: “Chloe and Toby put everything into their relationship but it just hasn't worked out between them.

"There's been no wrongdoing, they have simply grown apart, and over time realized it's better for them both to split.”

Chloe’s recent vacay with her best friend Millie is also being linked to the breakup, with Chloe supposedly jetting away to get ‘space’ and heal, with the source adding: “Naturally, Chloe has found the breakup difficult but being able to spend time abroad with Millie has given her the space she needed to start moving on.”

As there has yet to be any official confirmation, we can’t help but remain a little hopeful as Chlo and Tobbes have previously had to deny claims that they’d split after fans spotted that they hadn’t been interacting on Instagram, or been seen together.

Plus, all their couple selfies still remain on their socials, which we know is not usually the cast after a breakup (remember when Jacques O’Neil deleted all traces of Paige Thorne from his IG?).

This time though, all our manifesting may come to nothing as fans think Toby may have confirmed the news and taken a cheeky swipe and Chloe on TikTok…

What have Chloe and Toby said about their split?

While Chloe has remained mute on the subject, Toby has riled up some Chloe stans with his ‘response’ to the news.

Taking to TikTok, the football player posted a video smiling down the lens with a caption that said: “I don’t need a BeReal, I need to BeSingle.” He also captioned the video: “Arhhh shiiiii here we go again…”

Some fans felt this was ‘very muggy’ (Sorry, another Chloe Love Island quote there.) with one commenting: “Ah, his age is showing.”

While another added: “It’s not even been 24 hours yet…damn.”

We're going to play devil's advocate here and suggest that it could also be a sarcastic response to the rumors, but regardless we’re all now playing the waiting game now to see how and if Chloe will respond…
