These blonde Halsey braids are the style you'll want to rock all summer long

These Halsey braids and water waves might make you do a double-take

Blink and you might miss Halsey's latest hair look.

The singer and trendsetter took to Instagram with blonde water waves and braids, a far cry from their usual dark pixie. If this about-face doesn't leave you dreaming about sun, sand and summer dresses, we're not sure what will.

"tree spirit 🌳 a quiet May Day morning," the singer captioned.

The photos, however, did all the talking. Check out this seasonal inspo before they change up their 'do again!

The Halsey braids and waves transformation

We can smell the salt water and SPF from here. (Psst: check out the best sunscreen for face options while you're daydreaming about the beach.)

Halsey accentuates their light-blonde hair with dark roots and gives their waves a slightly unkempt look with just the right amount of frizz and volume. We appreciate their take on the Hailey Bieber Coachella braids, which is significantly thicker than the model's ultra-thin twists. We're not being biased, but it's perfect.

For those who are attempting to channel the singer's latest Insta snaps, we'll give you some advice.

First thing's first, tackle the waves.

"If you use the flatiron and you start at the top and make sea-shaped motions with your hand—almost like you're opening or closing a doorknob as you go down—that creates that water effect,"  Kate Post, a New York-based hairstylist and a member of the Bridal By Alexandria team, previously told My Imperfect Life.

Once the gentle look is in place, start braiding and voila! If you want to add a few tweaks, we recommend thick and thin braids to really enhance those free-spirited vibes. (If only someone had thought of this during Coachella.) If you want to get that volume, try teasing your strands.

Now that you've figured out how to style your locks this summer, allow us to leave you with a few curly hair tips, namely how to brush curly hair without losing curls and/or waves.

Happy styling, everyone!
