We never want this trend to end

The naked dress was made big by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City and it’s having a real moment right now. Recently, we've seen the look on the likes of Kendall Jenner at the Met Gala 2021, and on Megan Fox at the VMAs—and now Lizzo has debuted her very own naked dress and we’re in love.

If you're wondering whether a naked dress belongs in your capsule wardrobe Lizzo clearly makes a good case for it. Stepping out for Cardi B’s birthday party, Lizzo treated us to a full-length, blue, shimmering naked dress paired with two nipple pasties and a thong.

The singer, who recently wowed us with her blonde hair transformation, was literally glowing. This time she was channeling all the noughties vibes, from diamond butterfly clips in her hair to silver, bedazzled Jimmy Choos. Not to mention the dreamy silver glitter eyeshadow and lip-gloss moment.

She shared three posts to Instagram dedicated to her disco look, one being a video that saw the twerking queen show off her moves. It’s safe to say her fans were obsessed with the daring look and were losing it on Twitter.

One wrote: “Lizzo. That’s it. That’s the tweet.”

Another said: “Lizzo absolutely conquered this entire event and you can’t change my mind”

And a third tweeted: “Lizzo is killin' it with a Cardi B birthday dress.”

Lizzo also shared a series of very relatable, blurring drunk pics that meant we couldn’t help but hope that maybe she’d drunk DM’d Chris Evans again—because we all need that kind of content in our lives.

The sheer naked dress has a long iconic history and has taken many forms, such as Kate Moss’s sparkly mini slip dress from the 90s to Marilyn Monroe back in 1962 wearing a daring dress made to look like she was wearing nothing but diamonds.

The trend just keeps coming back. It will never be anything short of glamorous and we never want it to go!
