Why is Taylor rerecording and what album is coming up next? Swifties are taking guesses
Which album will get the 'Taylor's Version' treatment next? The cryptic queen is dropping some serious clues
Taylor Swift—prolific musician, master of the best breakup songs and queen of cryptic messages—has sent fans into overdrive with her rereleased albums, most recently Red. (Judging from the Taylor Swift Jake Gyllenhaal memes circulating, someone might want to check in on the actor.)
Why is Taylor rerecording in the first place? In an attempt to reclaim her first six studio albums that were created with Big Machine Records, whose master recordings were controversially purchased by Scooter Braun, the pop-country queen has decided not to let any record labels hold her back. As a result, listeners have been gifted with newly remastered hits and goodies from the vault. It's a win-win all around.
Fearless and Red have already been given the Taylor's Version treatment, and now fans are dying to know what's next...and they have theories. Since the songstress can't resist a good puzzle, eagle-eyed Swifties are carefully watching the singer's every move to see what's up next.

Why is Taylor rerecording? What album is up next?
Plenty of Swifties are making the case for Speak Now, the singer's 2010 album. Drop everything now and take a look at the clues. Do you agree?
The newly released I Bet You Think About Me music video bears a striking resemblance to one of Swift's Speak Now album covers.

Others think she's recreating the purple aesthetic from Speak Now's original album cover. Notice that the price for Red is $20.10, the year in which Speak Now debuted and it's in the color purple. Hmm...
okaaaaay i’m convinced speak now is next!!! #SpeakNowTaylorsVersion pic.twitter.com/DJ8OfEzm7hNovember 15, 2021
Don't think your purple number at the 'All Too Well" premiere went unnoticed, Ms. Swift!
While the 2010 hit is certainly popular, others are making the case for 1989, which dropped in 2014. Did you notice the nods to the birds on the 1989 album cover in I Bet You Think About Me?

Oh, hey! Guess what year the Benz in "All Too Well" was made?

So...which one is it?
Swift is dropping clues for each album simultaneously, but time will tell which one is up next. Judging from her efficiency, we wouldn't be the least bit surprised if both albums drop on the same day (fingers crossed). The season of giving is upon us, after all.
