Where is Love Island UK filmed exactly? Let's be honest—the villa is one of the biggest stars of the show year in, year out, as the location for the Islanders make-ups, break-ups, and all the drama in between. So where exactly is the ITV dating/reality show set?

Nowadays, there are two locations for the filming of Love Island—the summer season see the guys and gals hanging out under the Spanish sun, and the winter series, which is normally filmed in South Africa. In fact, winter Love Island 2023 has pretty much just finished, with the Love Island 2023 cast having recently exited the villa. But whether it's the summer or winter, the villa and its stunningly hot location is always the backdrop to some of the most memorable Love Island moments, be it a 'chat' around the pool, an adorable date on a beautiful beach, or a tense dumping around the fire pit.

With such beautiful locations, we're always left wondering how we can replicate those epic sun-soaked memories by heading to the iconic Love Island locations ourselves. So where is the Love Island villa each year? As we eagerly await the arrival of the 2023 summer series, (and make sure we know how to watch Love Island UK for any catch ups) let's get acquainted with where the winter and summer editions of Love Island UK are *actually* filmed.

Here's what you need to know about the famous villa locations...

Where is Love Island UK filmed in 2023?

It has been confirmed that we will be returning to Mallorca for summer Love Island 2023, which is where most of the summer seasons have been filmed so far. For example, the eighth season of UK Love Island, in 2022, was filmed in Mallorca, Spain, with the famous villa located in the Mallorcan area of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar.

The 2022 villa was actually a brand-new property for the show, and the fourth villa change to happen since the start of Love Island. The Love Island season 8 cast—from Davide and Ekin-Su, to Andrew and Tasha—spent their eight weeks there, sunning themselves in the beautiful Spanish heat.

The location of season ten (the summer 2023 series) is currently unconfirmed, but given that the villa was new only last year, it's likely that Maya Jama, Ian Stirling, and the rest of the cast and crew will return to this location when the show premieres later this year.

The 2022 Love Island UK location—and what we assume will be the 2023 villa—is just 10 minutes away from where the series was filmed before, and was chosen because the previous villa was unavailable.

Fans will likely remember the outdoor kitchen, the colorful bean bags, the stylish rectangular pool, and the infamous terrace just above the garden. If the 2023 summer series is filmed here, we can't wait to see more terrace-based drama!

Before 2022, the UK version of Love Island was filmed at a property east of the Spanish island since 2017.

Wondering when the next Love Island UK will start? Here's what we know so far..

The winter Love Island 2023 villa

If you've just finished watching, you might be wondering, where is the Love Island villa for the winter series? The first of the 2023 series' has just wrapped up, and this time around, the Islanders were based in a villa in South Africa, described as an "eco retreat" in the Franschhoek wine valley. More broadly, the property is located in the in the Cape Winelands, and is part of the Ludus Magnus estate. Snazzy!

The mountainous Love Island UK filming location had all of the classic features that we've come to expect from a Love Island villa, from an enormous pool for our singletons to lounge around, to a host of palm trees and day beds galore for chat pulling and debriefs—in fact, during the winter series, these soon became the setting for some 'mad moves'—one of our favorite Love Island quotes...

After watching, viewers understandably wondered whether you could rent the Love Island villa in order to have their own drama-fill getaway. And amazingly, while we're unlikely to ever visit the villa as a contestant, you can actually stay at this property yourself now that filming is done!

The house is available to rent out, with The Times reporting that a stay in one of the villas will cost you from $1,778/£1,438 per night. So it's certainly not what we'd call cheap—but great if you have the cash to spare!

This series of UK Love Island was the second winter edition. Back in 2020, the first instalment of UK winter Love Island was filmed in a different, equally luxurious villa in Cape Town, South Africa.
