What's your favorite scary movie? If you answered Scream, well, you're in luck! Wes Craven's frightening franchise turns 25 years old this year, and to celebrate, Airbnb will allow brave guests to spend the night in the iconic house from the 1996 horror film.
Pack your suitcase and mini bag, my friend—it's time to revisit Woodsboro...if you dare. (No judgment if you're not quite as resilient as Sydney Prescott.)
- The scariest movies on Netflix to watch for thrills and chills
- Easy Halloween costumes for adults who are feeling lazy but spooky
- Fear Street on Netflix: Catch R.L. Stine's book-turned-movie series
- Hotels.com will let you channel the Plastics with this 'Mean Girls' Day perk
Beginning October 12, 2021 at 1pm ET (10am PT, 6pm GMT) fans can visit airbnb.com/halloween (opens in new tab) to book a $5 one-night stay for up to four guests on October 27, October 29 or October 31. Yes, you read that right, only five bucks.
There will be plenty to keep horror movie enthusiasts entertained: a Scream marathon with the best '90s snacks, a direct phone line to Ghostface, a tour of the house and a chance to snag Woodsboro memorabilia. COVID protocols will be enforced throughout the stay.
Meet your 'Scream' house host
Even better? None other than Officer Dewey Riley will do the honors of showing you around. Yes, David Arquette, who played the fearless cop in the film franchise, will be there to greet you upon your arrival.
“Protecting the town of Woodsboro is my life’s duty, and I’ve certainly developed a knack for escaping Ghostface,” Arquette said. “As your Host, I’ll be keeping a watchful eye on guests to ensure no one gets surprised by an unexpected plot twist. Trust me, horror movies always keep it interesting, for better or for worse...“
Looks like you're going to have to watch your back! Thankfully, you'll have law enforcement on your side...even if Ghostface is not.
This spooky stay is all in the name of a good cause: in honor of the most wonderful frightening time of the year, Airbnb will make a donation to Ween Dream, which provides free Halloween costumes to children in need.
Even if you cannot snag a stay at the Scream house, you can join the virtual experience on October 28 with Scream (2022) executive producer Kevin Williamson, who will discuss behind-the-scenes info about the flicks. Booking opens on October 12 at 1pm ET at airbnb.com/SecretsofSCREAM (opens in new tab).
They say there are certain rules one must abide by in order to successfully survive a horror movie. Rule one? Book this scream-worthy delight on Airbnb!
