As we eagerly await the return of Emily in Paris season 3—to see if our favorite designer-loving city dweller stays in the city of love, or returns how to Chicago—we’ve just found out some very exciting news about the upcoming series. It turns out that Lucien Laviscount—aka Alfie and Emily’s new love interest—is making a comeback in Season 3 and is actually set to become a series regular!

This is no doubt very exciting news for fans of the charming but cynical Brit, as it seemed uncertain when we might see him again after he revealed at the end of season 2 that he was returning to London.

For those who need a quick refresher, Alfie (Laviscount) is a British banker working in Paris, who happened to be taking the same French class as Emily. The pair partnered up for an assignment—and in classic rom-com fashion—they did not initially get along. Things quickly took a romantic turn, however, after the pair shared a very steamy night together.

This did not go down well with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), who at the end of the series decided to get back together with ex-girlfriend Camille (Camille Razat)—despite his feelings for Emily (which of course we know are reciprocated).

Alfie then reveals he’s returning to London, Emily finds out that Gabriel and Camille have moved in together and is then left with a choice—to stay in Paris or return home to Chicago.

The end of the sophomore season left fans under the impression that Alfie would be out of the picture, however, according to Deadline, he’s set to make a big comeback in season 3.

Showrunner, Darren Star confirmed the news during a panel at Paley Fest that yes he will return and will actually be a regular character in the upcoming third installment! Very good news for those who live for a love triangle!

Star, who created the likes of Sex and the City and And Just Like That, also revealed the next series will focus on Emily's choice—and while speaking to TV Line told fans not to discount Alfie just yet, regardless of Emily's obvious feelings for Gabriel.

He said: "I love Alfie, personally. I wouldn’t write Alfie off, and I don’t think Emily should, either...London’s not far from Paris.”

Looks like Alfie could still be in the running for Emily's heart!
