Important February astrology events to note:
New moon in Aquarius
When: Tuesday, February 1, 2022
At the beginning of the month, the new moon will make us extra appreciative of our rarest qualities.
"This new moon's energy is going to be all about being innovative and embracing the parts that make us unique," says astrologer Nina Kahn (opens in new tab).
However, she notes that Aquarius rules friendship and communication, so it's also a great time to chat with like-minded peers and even get a project off the ground.
"We're going to be feeling super visionary, and we're going to be thinking about the collective future and how we can make a positive impact," she adds.
The snow moon (full moon)
When: Wednesday, February 16, 2022
Although the Native Americans aptly gave the snow moon its moniker because it's in the coldest month of the year, this year's full moon in February is actually a great time for us to look ahead to spring.
Astrologer Liz Simmons (opens in new tab) says it'll be the astrological breather we all need, and it'll help us gear up for the spring. This warm energy will foster creativity and allow us to return to simple pleasures—perhaps childlike routines that make us feel carefree.
Mars conjuncts Venus and Capricorn
When: Wednesday, February 16, 2022
Looking to manifest love in 2022? February 16 is a time to keep your eyes peeled. (Yes, even though it's right after Valentine's Day.) Simmons notes that the happening during Aquarius season will force us to look at our commitments and relationships in a new light.
"When you have the lover planet meeting up, it's this huge energetic shift towards connection and romance, but the Capricorn ideals of power and longevity," she says.
Keep your future in mind and whether or not the relationship you desire fits in with your goals.
When: Sunday, February 20, 2022
Get ready for a unique return—one that only happens every 248 years. The US will be treated to its first-ever Pluto return.
"Pluto is the planet of death, destruction, unearthing the taboo and rebirth," astrologer Stephanie Campos-Powell (opens in new tab) says. "For many countries, the Pluto return signifies a period of upheaval, radical reassessment and change."
It might be intimidating to think about, but Pluto does have the power to get rid of what no longer serves us, so keep your fingers crossed old ways that don't work will be on their way out.
When: Saturday, February 19 to Sunday, March 20, 2022
Ah, Pisces season—one of the astrology calendar events we're most looking forward to.
“Pisces season is a magical time, especially since both Jupiter and Neptune heighten the mysticism," says Simmons. "It can be the perfect season to get in touch with your shadow self, intuition and imagination.”
