For anyone wondering if John B and Sarah Cameron break up in Outer Banks season three, the answer is yes—but unlike their real-life relationship, their on-screen characters got back together soon after.
So, who is John B dating in real life, exactly? Well, it's now been all the way confirmed that Chase is dating singer Kelsea Ballerini. Chase Stokes confirmed that they're officially dating on March 3, 2023, during an interview with Today after months of teasing us with cozy Instagram snaps.
When quizzed by host Sheinelle Jones, if he was a fan of Ballerini, who was set to perform on Saturday Night Live the following night, he said: “Absolutely, I’m a fan. Yeah, who isn’t a fan?”
Before Jones then quipped: “For those of you who don’t know, they’re dating,” to which Chase simply replied, “Mmm hmm.” At last!
He then followed up the next day, by sharing a picture to his IG Story (as per Elite Daily) following her SNL performance. The picture showed him gazing admiringly at her name sign on a door (presumably her dressing room) in the SNL studio which he captioned with: "Well that was special. Proud of you, my love."
And now, the pair have made yet another red carpet appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, showing that they are stronger than ever!
Kelsea and Chase looked incredibly loved up whilst having their picture taken, giggling, cuddling up close to one another, and even sharing a smooch!
At the event, Kelsea even debuted a new bird tattoo on her back, which was visible thanks to her plunging (and stunning) red dress.
Over on Instagram following the event, she wrote: "New lil hummingbird tattoo reveal. Thanks," before tagging her tattoo artist.
It was definitely a big night for Chase's girlfriend, as she even performed at the VMA's too—cheered on by her beau, of course.
The pair clearly love stepping out at events together, having made their red-carpet debut at the CMT Awards on April 1, 2023, where they were photographed looking very loved up, with Kelsea telling Carissa Culiner during the awards pre-shows: "I have a really hot date tonight. I'm really really happy and it's really nice to...this is our first outing."
As for how they struck up their relationship—speculation initially began to gain traction after Chase shared a carousel on Instagram in January 2023, featuring a picture of him looking cozy with a girl at a football game and while we could only see the back of the 'mystery' woman's head—Chase went on to tag Kelsea in the snap. So mystery woman, not so much.
Chase then seemingly went on to confirm the relationship to TMZ after he was quizzed about her, saying: "She's a sweet girl. We're having a good time and that's all I'll say."

On February 17, Chase then pretty much confirmed the rumors once again, during a red-carpet interview with Extra. The actor shared his excitement over Kelsea being confirmed as SNL's musical guest in March, saying: "She's an incredible human being. I adore her to death. This is a huge moment for her. So, I'm just very, very proud of her."
Thankfully, their relationship is now completely out in the open! Keslea even appeared on Alex Cooper's 'Call Her Daddy' podcast on February 22, where she shared how she slid into his DMs.
She explained that her manager was actually the one to point her towards Chase, as he was living nearby where Outer Banks season three was being filmed.
Kelsea said: "He was like, ‘You know who’s really cute, like, when you’re ready? Chase.’ I was like, ‘You’re so right.’ I’ve never seen his show, but I just knew of him, and I just swan dove right on in,” she recalled.
