Now that the new Love Island UK host has been confirmed, we're all desperate to know exactly when the next Love Island UK series will be hitting screens. And while we might still have a few months to go, there's plenty to get us excited for its premiere.

It's only been a couple of months since August's Love Island live final, which saw Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti crowned as the summer season's winners, but we're already desperate for more—especially now that Maya Jama has been revealed as the show's new host, taking over from Laura Whitmore.

So when will Maya Jama be heading to the famous Love Island villa and how long do we have to wait until Love Island's new season? Here's everything you need to know...

When is the next 'Love Island' UK?

Luckily for all of us who are desperately waiting for the next series of Love Island, we won't have to wait as long as we might think. While the show generally airs once a year, ITV confirmed earlier this year that 2023 will season, not one, but TWO seasons of everybody's favorite reality dating show.

The first series of 2023 is likely to take place in January with the return of winter Love Island. This will be the first series with Maya Jama at the helm as the host of the show.

When does winter 'Love Island' start?

At the moment, the 2023 winter Love Island series—which will take place in South Africa—doesn't have an official start date. This is the second time that Love Island has aired a winter series—the first being in 2020, but before the Covid-19 lockdown—so it's likely that ITV will follow suit and hold the show at a similar time of year.

Back in the summer while the previous series was still airing, Love Island shared a post on Instagram, announcing that there would be 'double Love Island for 2023'. In their caption, they hinted that the Love Island South Africa series will air in January 2023, writing: "2023 is officially the year of love!

"@loveisland (opens in new tab) will kick start the New Year with a fresh batch of Islanders heading to South Africa, then we'll be back to Mallorca for eight love-filled weeks in the summer ☀️💗".

So hopefully we don't have more than a few months to wait until the new Love Island UK season hits our screens!

Until then, familiarise yourself with the best Love Island UK seasons to rewatch in the meantime and get you ready for some winter drama in the villa...
