With Love Island season eight having ended with Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu claiming the win—now begins the long wait to see which of our Love Island 2022 couples go the distance. Sadly it seems after Deji and Lacey became our first Love Island split, we have another breakup on our hands as Danica and Jamie seem to confirm they've gone their separate ways.

So far, the majority of this year's Love Island couples are still together, with the likes of Tasha and Andrew, Paige and Adam, Luca and Gemma and Dami and Indiyah all looking strong at the Love Island reunion. Winners Davide and Ekin-Su are also better than ever, teasing a new TV show and dropping hints about moving in together.

While this is happy news, the same can't be said for Deji and Lacey— who were the first couple to split from the series, nor Jamie and Danica who have also since called it quits.

Here's what we know about what went down and why—as usual—there was plenty of drama!

Love Island split—which 2022 couple has called it quits?

Deji and Lacey

As mentioned, Deji Adeniyi and Lacey Edwards were the first couple to call time on their relationship after leaving Love Island

The pair initially hit it off in the villa towards the end of the series—and the spark has reportedly already faded. But it seems that this wasn't simply a case of the 25-year-old record supervisor from Bedford and 25-year-old pro dancer from Swindon suddenly deciding they were no longer each other's type on paper.

Indeed, it appears there might have been some mugging off going on. During Sunday's tense reunion, it was brought up that the pair have never been on a date after leaving the ITV2 show on July 24th. As well as this, according to The Sun, Deji is alleged to have slept with another islander—Coco Lodge—which was the "last straw" for Lacey.

A source said: "Everyone could tell it was awkward between them at the Reunion after Lacey delivered some home truths. Now they've called it quits and are no longer seeing each other. Lacey didn't want to force something that wasn't meant to be and then the rumors about Deji and Coco were the final straw between them."

It seems Lacey got wind of the claims at the Love Island reunion, which aired last week, when many islanders were seeing each other in person again for the first time.

Speaking to The Sun, the source shared that the revelations had come about because Chyna Mills had told the other contestants about Deji straying with Coco.

They said: “Lacey was absolutely mortified and was giving Deji the cold shoulder all night. Summer [Botwe] decided to bring it up with Coco while they were arguing about something else and all hell broke loose. Coco and Chyna are no longer speaking and now Coco and Summer aren’t either. There was a lot of drama.”

Danica and Jamie

Danica and Jamie are now the second couple to join the list, as the pair have seemingly gone their separate ways—with Danica having now been spotted locking lips with another reality TV star.

For those who don't know, Danica entered the villa as a Love Island bombshell but did not find a connection with any of the boys until Casa Amor—where she met Josh. Sadly things fizzled out pretty quickly but that was not the end of Danica's romantic journey.

Footballer Jamie entered the villa and quickly made a b-line for her, with the pair hitting it off before being voted out ahead of the final.

Despite reportedly becoming official though, they have now broken up with an insider telling the Daily Mail: "Danica and Jamie have gone their separate ways. They did make their relationship official but have decided that they didn't quite work together romantically.

"Jamie has just signed for a new football team and Danica is busy pursuing endless opportunities after leaving the Love Island villa and they sadly drifted apart. They're good friends still and will continue to support each other in everything they do."

Things are looking up for Danica though, as she was recently spotted kissing The Only Way Is Essex star Roman Hackett! Could a new TV couple be brewing?
