Curious about Blake Abbie, a fresh face in the Bling Empire: New York cast? Join the club!

The Bling Empire spin-off series on Netflix brings the glitz and glam of an Asian-American friend group to a new coast, following the likes of Dorothy Wang, Lynn Ban, Nam Laks and more. As you might've expected, it's full of luxury designer clothes, lavish homes, and plenty of extravagant events and parties.

But for Blake Abbie, it's not about the glitz and the glamour. "My bling is cultural bling," he told Women's Wear Daily. "I’m a downtown New Yorker. I have amazing friends who are artists and designers doing amazing things. For me, I don’t care about having an Hermès Birkin. Do I like a Kelly? Yes, but I don’t need that."

The reality newcomer also revealed to the publication that he is the self-described Switzerland of the group, remaining neutral when tensions arise. But who is Blake Abbie, exactly? We've got the scoop on everything from his job to his net worth...

Who is Blake Abbie from 'Bling Empire: New York?'

Blake Abbie is a half-Chinese, half-Scottish writer from Vancouver, Canada. Though he's garnered a reputation in the fashion world—much like co-star and friend Tina Leung, who convinced him to participate in the show—he originally studied opera singing and Germanic studies at the University of British Columbia. This segued into modeling and eventually a stint at Total World talent agency. Later in his career, he ventured over to fashion publications such as Industrie, System and Document Journal.

He is currently the editor at large of A Magazine Curated By, a fashion-focused publication curated by different designers, such as Simone Rocha, Rodarte and Proenza Schouler, among others. He's also dipped his feet into the acting pond and starred as Thomas in the Chinese series Meteor Garden, which is available to stream on Netflix, and 2021's Ming tian hui hao de.

And while he loves the grit and glamour of New York, he still gets homesick for wide open spaces sometimes, telling Tudum: “I grew up in Vancouver, so I really yearn for the ocean and the mountains, or just greenery in general when I’m in New York… I like to go along the East River even and sit underneath the FDR and have all the Chinese po pos and gong gongs doing their exercises, ’cause it’s very nice and reminds me of home."

Blake Abbie age: how old is he?

Born on October 30, 1990, Abbie is currently 32 years old—and a Scorpio.

What is Blake Abbie's net worth?

When it comes to the Bling Empire: New York cast net worth, Abbie's fortune is in the middle of the pack, with reports putting his worth upwards of $3 million.

While it's an incredibly impressive sum, Bling Empire Blake's fortune is a fair bit smaller than that of his cast members, especially the likes of Stephen Hung and his wife Deborah Hung, who are said to be worth an estimated $400 million, possibly even more.

Blake Abbie family: who are they?

In his WWD interview, Blake from Bling Empire: New York shared that he grew up comfortably, but perhaps not with the same luxuries as his co-stars.

His father, Robert Alexander Abbie, hailed from Edinburgh, and his mother, June Wong-Abbie, from Hangzhou, China. His parents had a 26-year age difference, and his father sadly passed in 2020, and Abbie is an only child.

In the interview, he explained, “I grew up comfortably and enjoy certain luxuries in life, but I’m not a billionaire like some of the other people’s families on the show. But I think because I have a different kind of perspective on the Asian American experience since I am mixed, I think they were really interested in that."

We also catch a sneak peek of Abbie's mother's visit to New York City on the reality series, where the two speak about his queer identity, with his mother reassured her son of her love for him regardless of his sexuality.

Blake Abbie partner: is he dating anyone?

When it comes to sex and relationships, Blake Abbie identifies as fluid and queer and says his family is very supportive of his dating life.

He further shared in his WWD interview that his mom is keep for him to settle down and eventually have a family of his own, whatever that might look like for him.
