Our quest for finding the best bralettes began because for the last two years, many of us have spent more time inside than out. Ironically, while we stuck indoors, we freed our breasts from their restrictive wire cages. We’re not saying we’ve parted ways with underwire bras altogether—though if you fancy going the whole way, we salute yo—instead, we’ve discovered the joy and comfort (and, support) of bralettes.

These unstructured, wire-free creations are an essential for a capsule wardrobe, and for many, offer the support you need for everyday activities like working from home, walking in the park, and running errands.

And, they're so much more comfortable than regular bras that you’ll soon wonder why you didn’t switch sooner. They've recently become uber-stylish choices too, with so many of them no longer just dreary basics—instead, you'll find plenty of sexy, lacy, or elegant picks. Bralettes come in all different sizes, shapes, and types, from lacy triangles to more heavy-duty sports-bra styles. In fact, we reckon they’re the ideal item to wear under either your comfy loungewear or the best summer dresses.

These are our picks for the best bralettes that’ll make you want to ditch the wire. Believe us, your boobs will thank you!

Given that this bralette is from Rihanna’s lingerie brand, it had to be a little bit sexy. But don’t let the black lace and plunging neckline fool you—it’s insanely comfortable, too. Just pull it on and adjust the straps so it sits in the perfect spot. It comes in ‘Regular’ and ‘Curvy’ versions, so there should be an option for almost every body type, too.

We couldn't do a round-up of the best bralettes without including an option from Kim K's explosively successful SKIMS. So far, we love her 'Fits Everybody' bralette, which is so soft and comfortable we can barely notice we're wearing it. But that doesn't mean it isn't supportive—the material may be silky smooth but your boobs are properly lifted, and it held up well during a day of errands. We adore the shade/color range too, and it's available for a pretty reasonable price too. Plus, you can find some of the best pajamas at SKIMS, too. Kudos, Kim!

As the name suggests, this product is ideal for bustier gals with D-DDD breasts thanks to its large nylon cups, adjustable straps, and a supportive inner sling. No wonder it can be a little tricky to get your hands on one of these babies! There are just three sizes though, between 1-3, which the brand states accounts for around five different cup and back sizes.

Wear it under a cropped sweatshirt and show off the CK band for a sporty, nostalgic style.
